Membership Benefits

The Association of Managers in Canadian College and University Student Centres or “AMICCUS-C” as it’s more generally known, is a not-for-profit national organization that exists to support professional staff who work in student associations across Canadian post-secondary institutions.

As innovative, diverse, and professional staff leaders our mission is to support the post-secondary student experience in Canada. We offer members opportunities for learning and leadership development to fulfill and enhance their organizations.

Benefits of Membership

National Professional Conference (NPC) and Regional Professional Conferences (RPC) - Two professional development and networking conferences are offered to AMICCUS-C members each year, including one national and one regional, with members enjoying a discounted rate for these conferences. NPC Bursary - to increase NPC accessibility opportunities for members. This application and adjudication-based bursary and sees up to three, $500 bursaries being awarded annually. Apply today!

Research and Development Grant - provides Members with access to between $1,500 and $5,000 to support research and development initiatives. Apply today!

AMICCUS Social Community Platform - Membership in AMICCUS-C allows you to conveniently connect with professional staff at other student associations, unions and centres across Canada. The new AMICCUS Social provides Q&A access to all members who are generous in sharing the benefit of their experience related to topics such as student-focused programs and services, facilities management, retail and food service operations, as well as information and advice on general management issues, policy development, governance and advocacy.

PayScale - As a member of AMICCUS-C, your organization receives one license to MarketRate, an online salary, benefits and compensation information company that delivers accurate and specific regional salary data to aid decision making related to salary setting for individual positions, or to gather benchmark data to assist in creating a comprehensive compensation and benefits programs

Salopek & Associates Ltd. - AMICCUS-C has contracted with HR professionals to allow our members access to professional HR services. Salopek provides on-call HR support to members, with the first two-hours of access annually provided at no charge and a reduced rate for additional services and products purchased from their e-store.

Membership Statistics

The AMICCUS-C membership roster stands at approximately 75 student associations, with a broad national representation that includes a diverse mix of small, medium and large member organizations.
Our members also represent students from a variety of educational institutions, including universities, college/technical institutes and a few graduate students’ associations, totalling almost 900,000 students across Canada!

Membership Registration

The AMICCUS-C membership fee is based on a tiered system as endorsed by the membership as follows:

  • Less than 5000 student members - $550 per year
  • 5001-10,000 student members - $725 per year
  • 10,000 plus student members - $900 per year

The AMICCUS-C membership year aligns with its fiscal year and runs from January 1 to December 31. Membership fees are non-taxable.

Primary Members – one representative from each member organization is designated as the Primary Member. The Primary Member holds voting rights at AGMs and special meetings, may add secondary members to the member association’s AMICCUS-C account, and is the individual provided with log-in access to AMICCUS-C’s MarketRate Group Subscription.

Secondary Members – each member organization may sign up an unlimited number of secondary representatives from their organization at no additional cost. Secondary members enjoy access to AMICCUS Social and may attend annual conferences at the discounted member rate.
